Make computer shot more mid-range shots: From the poll, it seems that few people think that computer takes too many 3’s. Well, there is actually a glitch with the game that few people actually noticed. I didn’t realize it until about 3 months of playing. But once I found out, it just annoyed the hell out of me. Here is what it does.

Computers don’t take many 3’s if they are leading but once you lead, they will throw up 3’s to try to catch up or to take the lead. Most of the time computer usually makes them, putting them back on top so no one ever really noticed it if the score shifts back and forth. But once you led and consistently lead, you will notice that computer will just keep shooting 3’s until they catch up. Once you realized this, you can just guard computer really tight on the 3-point line, their 3 point % will dramatically decrease and you will easily beat them. Don’t believe me, play a game and watch what computer does once you lead. 90% of the time they will shot a 3. If you consistently lead, they will just keep shooting 3’s. If you played a quarter where you led most of the time, check the shooting display, you will noticed that more than 50% of the shots taken in that quarter by computer are 3’s.

Solution: It took me 3 months to find the solution to this problem. What you have to do is change players' shooting range from 25 to 24. This doesn’t affect their 3-point rating. This will cause computer to take more mid-range shots and take 3’s only when they are open. This means you, the user have to worry about computer taking mid range shots and not just the 3’s, adding more realistic playing. The bad thing is that the game doesn’t allow you to edit shooting range so you have to do it with DB commander.
